A contractor in West Java needed a light steel roof truss for a 1,200 m² warehouse with a six-week deadline.
The Challenge
Volumes were large enough that unit price mattered a lot, but six weeks leaves no room for a 25–35 day sea freight plus production and clearance.
The Approach
We split the requirement in two:
- Urgent portion — sourced from local stock so work could start in week one
- High-volume portion — ordered direct from factory on a looser timeline
This avoids the two common mistakes: forcing everything through import (project delayed) or everything through local stock (cost inflated).
